Job Responsibilities

Installation and repair of gas mains and services which includes heat fusion of polyethylene and/or welding of steel gas mains and services.

Operate and maintain all types of construction trucks, tools, and equipment.

Assists welder in welding of gas mains, services, and components.
Educational Requirements
-
General educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) plus the completion of the Operator Qualification program for Construction Operator.

Applicant must have the ability to comply with Company and industry operating, safety standards and regulations as well as the ability to operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

The capacity to demonstrate an aptitude for basic mechanical tasks and have sufficient problem solving skills is warranted.

Applicant should be able to respond well to changing priorities and work well in a Team environment.

Effective communication skills, both oral and written are necessary for this position.

Must demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, Company policies and procedures, and take all required training courses.

The capacity to demonstrate respect for all individuals and adhere to the Company's values and business practices are a must.

Applicant shall also submit to a pre-employment drug screen.

Working conditions include the ability to operate motor vehicle and heavy equipment and ability to operate a variety of hand tools and power tools including picks, shovels, sharp-shooters, pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, pavement saws, jack hammers, etc..

Applicant should also possess the ability to handle emergency situations and respond to call out, exert routine physical effort on a daily basis and work in all weather conditions.

Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with combination vehicle and air brake endorsement. Three years experience in natural gas utility work and/or HVAC/plumbing experience is preferable.
